Mercado Público
The Public Market we have in Florianopolis today was built in 1899. It’s a busy hub for crafts and many types of art, bars and restaurants. On Fridays and some Saturdays, there are samba shows as well. So, as it should be, it’s a lively place where people come to buy goods and have fun.
It is also a popular meeting point, both for residents and tourists. When you visit it for the first time, it becomes clear that this market brings together an interesting mix of artists, politicians, musicians, bohemians, businessmen and the local fishermen.
